aaronarigho asked: So as someone who has been digging your work for a long time now & watched you progress as an artist I have to ask.. What is it that's kept you motivated & driven I mean it's your drive & work ethic that I figure lots of people admire, but surely there's been some really nasty times where you were close to giving up? How did you stay on track, how did you get through the tough times? Not to be a downer but it's a serious question & more people than myself must think "why bother" & "how" at times
Of course there’s highs and lows in my life on a professional and personal level. At times I feel like I am going to break through and become a substantial artist. Then theres times I feel like it is never going to happen (this occurs a lot). I feel like saying “fuck it” and giving up. But then I think about where I was three year’s ago and all that I have accomplished. Even if it’s little accomplishments it all adds up. When I feel like my life sucks I think about the people who have it worse than me. That puts everything back into perspective and it reminds me that even if I don’t become what I see for myself in the future, at least I can say I tried my hardest and that I did what I love.
In the end that is what it is all about, doing what you love. Fuck what people think or say. If you have a fire in you and passion you will ultimately succeed. You may not become rich or famous but that isn’t shit if you aren’t genuinely happy.
“He never knew how close he was to success before he gave up”. I have that written on my white board as a daily reminder.
